HA
High availability (HA) keeps a second IBM i environment synchronized so it can take over production work within seconds or minutes of a failure.
HA is different from backup. A backup restores data after a loss and can take hours. HA keeps a synchronized second environment ready to take over much faster. That readiness is what PowerHA, Maxava and Rocket iCluster are priced to provide. The full budget also includes the second environment, operating system rights, implementation and regular failover testing.
